MULTIMESO Lab

The MULTIMESO Lab, directed by Assistant Professor Tiffany Cheng at Cornell University's Department of Design Tech, aims to advance the performance potential of natural and regional material resources through AI-enabled manufacturing methods for smarter and more resilient products, buildings, and infrastructure. Through our research and teaching, we investigate biological functionality and develop computational fabrication processes for structuring materials across the micro, meso, and macro length scales—creating bioinspired structures with programmable and energy-autonomous behaviors, from self-adjusting wearables to self-forming building components and self-regulating facades.
